HomeFold ("HomeFold", "we", "us") operates an online marketplace connecting clients with independent HomeFold Specialists who provide in-home laundry services. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

Account details: name, email address, phone number, and password-less sign-in identifiers.
Client details: service addresses, access notes, booking history, and reviews you write.
Specialist details: bio, service area, pricing, availability, profile photo, and verification documents (ID, police checks, and any Working With Children Check).
Payment information: processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, and usage analytics.

How we use your information

To create and manage your account and provide the marketplace.
To match clients with specialists, facilitate bookings, and process payments.
To verify specialist identity and suitability for entering clients' homes.
To send transactional messages (sign-in links, booking updates, review requests).
To maintain safety, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
To improve our services and understand how the platform is used.

Disclosure to third parties

We share personal information with other users only as needed to complete a booking (for example, a client's address is shared with the confirmed helper). We also use trusted service providers, including Stripe (payments and identity verification), Resend (email), Supabase (data hosting), and analytics providers. We require these providers to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Verification documents are stored securely and access is restricted. We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Your rights

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to delete your account. To make a request or raise a privacy concern, contact us at privacy@homefold.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
